Brief Summary …

A beautiful little sink – I have probably sold more of the Franke Ariane ARX160 sinks than all the other types of under-mounted sinks put together.

It looks good, works well, is well made, has good accessories … what’s not to like?

Pro's

  • Fits into a 600mm Sink Base Cabinet (aiding planning)
  • Like all Franke Sinks, the bowls have steep sides thereby increasing the interior dimensions
  • The Accessory Pack is worth having (now an optional extra) – as it turns the sink into a genuine work area.
  • Cuts out the need for a Washing Up Bowl

Con's

The mirror finish does not last long -it will show the first scratch, then the second, third, fourth etc. – until it “beds down” to a normal Stainless Steel Finish

Hi Peter.

Bought a Franke ARX160 yesterday, and fitted it today – very pleased with the look.

Thanks for the tip about the worktop templating – I got them to definitely create the cut out to be flush with the bowls.

Must admit – it would never have occurred to me that the chopping board would not fit otherwise!

Some simple advice and tips …

Be Careful when ordering this sink (and others like it) because its “handed”.

i.e. there are two sinks for every model – depending upon which side of the main bowl the small bowl is positioned.

The picture above shows the small bowl to the RH side of the main bowl – Franke describes this model as “Small Bowl Right” – always check you have ordered the corret handing.

The worktop sits on top of the sink and has a cut-out in its surface to expose the bowls – this cut-out has to be polished, as the edges are visible.

Some Worktop Fabricators will template this cut-out in order for the worktop to slightly overhang the bowls – if this is done the sinks chopping board will not now fit – so ask the templater to position the polished sink cut-out so that it is flush with the bowls
